09/26/09 Minot Daily News A Good DoseOfGod
Be still. Feel God's presence. See his grace and hear his word. Know that at this very moment God is with you.
That's what Nathan G. Anderson of Minot encourages his readers to do in "A Good DoseOfGod Everybody's Best Friend." His hope is that the book, which was just released this fall, will leave an imprint on many people.Anderson said he was sitting in his office at Minot State University in December 2008 when the thought of writing the book came to him.I was frustrated and a bit discontented. I decided to just rest for a moment and be still ... to be in the presence of the moment, to be in the state of peace and not let the thoughts in my mind that were causing discontent to really bother me so much," Anderson said. "I was just thoughtless for a minute or so when the next thing that came to my mind was, 'What I need right now is a good dose of God.' "The statement seemed divine and had just come out of the blue. It wasn't anything he had necessarily thought of before, he said, but it did speak to him so loudly he wrote down his thoughts and reflected on them. Those reflections turned out to be Section 1 of his book. That evening he noticed the ABC's of Marriage poem on the headboard of the bed and that started speaking to him, too."I ended up having so much content going through my mind that night that I got out of bed and began writing a poem, which is part of Section 2, "The ABC's of A Good Dog."A man one time asked him if he planned to write anything about the ABC's of God's presence as it applies to a man or woman in their lives."I thought about it and decided it would be a meaningful thing to do," Anderson said. He also has added some reflective questions to each segment of the alphabet.Section 3 of his book focuses on receiving and offering a good DoG (dose of God).Anderson tells his readers, "A Dose of God's grace is always readily available. Allow yourself to be fully present and you will find a DoG in all of life's moments, ranging from ordinary to extraordinary, and everything in between." The greatest impact of the greater good of yourself is found when God is allowed to work through his son/daughter, Anderson said. Documenting God's work in each individual isn't a difficult task. It can be done simply by identifying the occurrence and documenting it, he added. The easy-to-read text in the 6-inch by 6-inch coffee table-style book is filled with pictures of family, friends and tranquil scenes. Anderson has done more than write a book. The GoD moments in his life have inspired him to put art and words together in the form of inspirational posters. About the authorAnderson is employed at MSU in a job that deals with data management and analysis of that data. He was exposed to an opportunity to follow through or to pursue a doctoral degree at a different university in North Dakota and still have the same job. Once he had started the pursuit of the degree, it just didn't seem right to him so he decided to do more writing.A common man, he is Christian by religion, but enjoys learning the wisdoms of the world through other spiritual teachings as well. Anderson holds a master's degree in management and a bachelor's degree in psychology. He lives in Minot with his wife and three children.

09/18/09 KXMC Local Author Pens A Dose of God
It is a dream that has come true right in front of Nathan Anderson's eyes.
The Minot natives love for writing has turned into an inspirational book he penned.
It is called 'A Good Dose of God Everybody's Best Friend' playing off the 'Dose of God' being D-O-G Dog. Anderson says the goal of the small coffee table style book is to help people enhance their quality of life by learning and recognizing the roll God plays in it...
(Nathan Anderson - 'A Good Dose of God' Author) "I have really enjoyed the opportunity to have an idea and materialize it. I have had several ideas before that had just sat and faded away but this has been fun to take an idea and move forward learning about the process and to have the faith that it will turn into an effective product."
You can purchase and learn more about the book and Anderson at this website: www.ADoseOfGod.com.
Also, Anderson will be signing his book on October 3rd at Main Street Books in Minot the local retailer currently with copies for sale.
That runs from one until three that afternoon

"This past winter, many of us may have had a hard time trying to stay positive. For Nathan Anderson, an employee at Minot State, he found a way. Anderson decided to write a poem about the good things in life and that poem has now turned into a book called a, "A Good Dose of God". Anderson says the book allows people to realize all of the good things life has to offer. The book is on sale at Main Street Books in Minot or at www.adoseofgod.com. Anderson also sells posters featuring words of inspiration available online."
